Good Stuff for You Coin Collectors
Old coins are a definite keeper for those of you that have them and those of you that don't. Old coins value are a sure fire hot commodity because their monetary value is way more than what regular paper money and your plastic debit credit cards could ever be worth in this present day. As mentioned in previous articles about advanced metal, the value of money has declined. So don't lose those coins because they are the new better version of money. (Image by bitzcelt via Flickr)
There recently was a coin that sold for ten million dollar. Yes, I said ten million; unbelievable right? Well you could be getting good money for the coins that you have or plan to invest in too.
The coin commanding such a high price was a 1794 Flowing Hair silver dollar, so called because the profile design of Lady Liberty shows her hair flowing behind her. The coin is the finest known specimen, being in virtually perfect condition and looking like the day it was minted more than 200 years ago.
The year 1794 was the first our young country struck a silver dollar for use in commerce. We had been relying on using coins from other countries, most notably the Mexican eight reales, which remained legal tender as one dollar until 1856.
Not long ago seeing a coin sell for so much was not normal and for it to happen now, it is becoming a race to see if one will be able to pass 10 million dollars and sell for much more.
Investing wisely is a thing that must be done if you want to be able to make top money. You always want to aim for coins that when they sell you will be getting a better pay out then what you paid into getting it. If you cannot get that, leave it where it is at and move on to something else.
